Tiger Eye is part of Quartz group of minerals and it’s a variety of Chalcedony. It is being formed when Quartz is replaced by a mineral – Crocidolite. Silky luster is a common feature of most Tiger Eye pieces. The name of this gem is associated with its appearance. It is brown or golden in color and quite commonly looks similar to an eye. Throughout the years it was common to carry Tiger Eye piece to enhance courage and have additional protection. Tigers Eye resources are quite large so its price is affordable for most jewelry enthusiasts. This gemstone is found in countries like South Africa, Thailand, China, Brazil, USA and Namibia. Tiger Eyes pieces are mostly natural and its jewelry is rarely treated or enhanced in any way.
